Napoleon
Main ideas

• The novel unveils a Napoleon as we've never seen before: an idealistic youngster whose mystic ideals brought him to take the titanic enterprise of the search for the secrets of inmortality in Ancient Egypt.
• All the locations of the novel have been carefully researched by the author: from the Giza's pyramids to the mysterious and unknown French pyramids of the Blue Coast.
• The author took more than seven years to document this plot almost from a point of view of a mystery thriller; consulting experts in Epigraphy, Astrology, Architecture and Masonry.

   Synopsis

During the summer of 1798, more than thirty thousand French soldiers disembarked in Egypt commanded by the General Napoleon Bonaparte. His official mission was the liberation of the country of Nile from three centuries of Turkish
domain and, also to block the unrestricted navigation of the British fleet to their Oriental colonies. No one but the young Napoleon had ever brought scientists to Egypt to study, write and copy all they can from this marvellous country.

Temples, graves, mummies, tunnels, large and grand treasures, and pyramids opened to them unveiling a new world, very ancient at the same time.

NAPOLEON ARRIVED IN THE RIGHT MOMENT. Certain Islamic sects, and the heads of the coptic church, were waiting for a leader - half warrior, half mystic, capable of returning them to their splendorous past.

Egypt   Although, Napoleon was seeming to chase another purpose beyond political or religious: he was obsessed with searching for inmortality to be found in Egypt -the formula that will guarantee eternal life.

Without proof, Napoleon believed that Jesus of Nazareth had obtained, in his egyptian exile (depicted by the Gospels)- the same formula. Jesus resurrected Lazarus and returned from the dead, following a ritual, that---according to the pharaoh's beliefs--was succesfully applied by gods and goddess such as Isis and Osiris.

NAPOLEON'S EGYPTIAN SECRET exposed an intrigue of colossal proportions. Ancient Christians, Nomads, Muslims and descendants of the builders of the pyramids, have been
confronting each other to get the formula of life. If it was not for the secret so mighty that the pharaohs gave to Jesus of Nazareth, what else was Napoleon Bonaparte looking for during his year of campaigns in Egypt, Syria and Palestine?

The involving plot created by Javier Sierra in the pages of his historic novel will bring you to see an episode from history with different eyes.
For sure, you will never see Napoleon in the same way again, and you will never accept an official history as it is...

Napoleon

Although in "NAPOLEON'S EGYPTIAN SECRET" it is very difficult to separate the historical truth from
the prodigious imagination of it's author, it will be convenient to clarify that it is rigorously true...

...that Napoleon Bonaparte, without any reason or justification, in the middle of his military operations of the conquest of Egypt and Palestine, turn his heels around and went to the Holy Land, stopping for a night in Nazareth. It was, as the book tells, the 14th of April of 1799.

...Napoleon Bonaparte spent another night, from the 12th to 13th of August of 1799, in the interior of the Great Pyramid.
He never wanted to tell his men why he emerged pale and fearful from the pyramid's interior.

...And so, an astrologer named Bonaventura Guyon (also known as "the red man from the Tuilleries") who was frequently consulted by Napoleon during his years in power in French politics was called to help explain what happened.

Napoleon in the Great Pyramid   ...and Jean Baptiste Prosper Jollois and the baron Edouard Villiers du Terrage formed part of the scientific committee brought to Egypt by Bonaparte. It is a historical fact that in August of 1799 they discovered the tomb of Amenhotep III and that on the 6th of September of the same year, they abandoned their findings (today catalogued as KV 22) of the city of Luxor forever. They unified the French troops in El Cairo and evacuated the pharaohs's land.
